Amateur Photography for All

As John and I were discussing, nearly every technophile on this planet has considered becoming an amateur photographer, including students that have taken Photography 101... I know I have. I've been thinking... Hey, I bought all this shit. Now I have to use it, right? And manual photography, as opposed to digital, is painstaking... The part I loved most was developing and staying up all night long. SLR has so much soul that a digital camera or a digital process just doesn't seem to capture. Anyway.

I was thinking... Public darkrooms in the city. I love New York. Hopefully New York and all of its photographic glory will love me back. Typing in darkrooms in Google led me to Photo Manhattan, somewhat promising.

Well, I found this list of darkrooms in NYC... And the best way to get a grip on something is to look at it yourself. Road trip, anyone?
